Beckoning breeze is pure fantasy. Another dream put to canvas.
Sarah, seen here, at age 9, is looking out west, to the wild Pacific Ocean ... next stop, Japan.
The Pacific seems like the new ocean, or perhaps, the ocean for a new world. The new horizon. In the history of the western world, the Atlantic has long been the ocean of consequence ... Ericson, Columbus, World War II Europe, and so on. Perhaps it feels that way to me because of our British roots, the Hudson’s Bay Company, and the exploration of Canada. The Pacific has always been there, but it’s been just out of sight for Eurocentric cultures.
In this dream, events of significance to the human race are happening in the Pacific. The courses of Mother and Earth are being plotted. There is a spot, 75 miles west of Vancouver Island and Z minus 200 metres, so to speak. It’s an obscure, deep ocean canyon with very unusual current characteristics. A gathering is taking place. Here, there will be a debate that will decide the fate of humankind.
This is the place that beckons to the breeze. It whispers to all – to Orphan and Offspring alike. Sarah doesn’t know why she alone sees the things she sees. But she knows that it all means something, and that’s what’s important. The Arrogant are learning. Mark Heine
