Studio News ...100 Eminent International Artists ... January 2025
I'm excited to be invited to submit to the 2025, 100 Eminent International Artists Online Exhibition, hosted by my friends at The Bindas Artist's Group in India. This is my third invitation to this exciting annual event. I won the silver award in 2024. For 2025, I've submitted these three works ... fingers crossed :)
Domus Magazine ... July/August 2024
The July/August, 2024 edition of the prestigious Domus Architecture Magazine of Italy has selected my painting Sanctuary, to represent a feature on DR. Samuel Peralta and the Lunar Codex that I am part of. There are now 63 of my paintings, in digital format, on the Moon with the first lander Nova C which landed on the moon in February 2024, with more landers to follow. Domus is a publication I've admired for many years. I'm thrilled to included!
Lunar Codex Time capsules ... Artemis 2024
In May of 2021, I learned that digital copies of two of my Sirens paintings are to be included aboard the Peregrin lander, in the Astrobotic/DHL "MoonBox" Time Capsule destined for permanent residence on the Lacus Mortis region of Earth's Moon. In October 2023, I was excited to learn a further 21 of my Sirens paintings have been added to the Codex, that took my total to 23 paintings included in the Lunar Codex.
I'm on the moon! In February 2024 the Nova Collection time capsule, aboard the Nova C Lander, was successfully transported via SpaceX rocket and has take up permanent residence in the Oceanus Procellarum region of the Moon. This marks the first American lunar landing in more than 50 years. Now, in February 2024, I have been invited to add my collection of postage stamp artwork to the lunar Codex on future missions. That will add an additional 40 paintings to my Codex presence, for a total of 63 of my works archived on the moon. My stamp paintings will represent artwork designed and directed by art directors in Luxembourg, Liechtenstein and Canada. The Polaris Collection, aboard the Griffin Lander/NASA Viper Rover, will also be transported via SpaceX rocket and will take up permanent residence in the region of the lunar South Pole. Now added to the list are two new additions of the Lunar Codex to lander missions. Now the Orion, Firefly and Serenity landers will also carry the Codex for permanent lunar display. The Peregrin, Griffin and Nova and now Orion, Firefly and Serenity Landers are all part of the NASA Artemis Project that will return humans to the Moon in 2025, for the first time in over 50 years, with the intent of establishing a permanent colony on the Lunar surface. This colony will serve as the jumping off point for later missions to the planet Mars. I'm hoping to be part of a Mars time capsule at some future date! The Lunar Codex started as a project by renowned Canadian scientist Dr. Samuel Peralta. The Codex is a message-in-a-bottle to the future, so that travellers who find these time capsules might discover some of the richness of our world today. It speaks to the idea that, despite wars and pandemics and climate upheaval, humankind found time to dream, time to create art. In preparation, NASA will send scientific instruments to the Moon, over 2022 to 2024, via Commercial Lunar Payload Service (CLPS) partners, such as Astrobotic Technologies and Intuitive Machines. Their lunar landers will launch as payloads of commercial rocket platforms by the United Launch Alliance (ULA) or SpaceX. Along with NASA instruments, these missions will carry commercial payloads, including the time capsules that make up The Lunar Codex. Click thumbnail to view article ...
