Any more and she risks being discovered. Writing has long been a integral part of Mark Heine's creative process. In the pursuit of his original artistic voice, Mark's writing has evolved to become the driving force behind his work and has led him to envision a world of his own creation. Sirens, the culmination of 44 years exploration, is inspired by the sea-nymphs, made famous in Homer's Odyssey. These underwater visions of mythological muse are rooted in the moments of an ongoing and developing fictional narrative. This complex narrative, involving human evolution and our natural environment, is the unifying conceptual thread that ties these surreal visions. |
I am so excited to have my painting "Labyrinth (available) featured in the 14th Virtual ARC Salon Exhibition at Sothebys.com. Featuring 70 short video interviews with many of the exhibiting artists from around the world (2 hours of video content), a newly created digital exhibition catalog, and a virtual walk through exhibition space. Also included is a written interview with Kara Lysandra Ross covering topics such as the importance of representational art and why it is a good investment and a short video capturing the core philosophy of the movement including live footage of the exhibition while on view at the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona, Spain.

Labyrinth was selected from 4300 submissions the receive the Haynes Gallery award at the 14th ARC Salon 2019-2020. The ARC Salon is largest competition of contemporary realism in the world.
