Following four 24 hour days of tacking up to 50 miles offshore and into the wind we arrive in Friendly Cove, Nootka Sound. It’s the farthest point north on our sailing trip this year, off the west coast of Vancouver Island. It’s a surreal place. So desolate and abandoned, with little hint of it’s historical significance to Canada. Just down the beach if this lonely rock and it’s even more lonely green guest. Mark Heine
