I’m standing on Frank Island, a small island that’s accessible at low tide just off Chesterman Beach, near Tofino, on the west coast of Vancouver Island B.C. The rain’s coming down hard and blurring the view of headland across the bay. Soon these rolling swells will begin to deliver tons of debris from the 2011 tsunami in Japan. It’s expected to start arriving any day now... the world suddenly seems a smaller place. Mark Heine
